The haunted house is now under the control of “Fright Nights, LLC, which is owned by Brent Gulsvig of Cyrus, Todd Gylsen of Glenwood and Steve Meyers of Carlos. All three are Glenwood natives. The group plans to keep the Central Square location, but change the layout and grow the “scare factor” with all new rooms, a new layout and plenty of surprises.
“We had a blast scaring our patrons over the years, but, when the opportunity surfaced to pass the torch to a group who could breath new life into it, we had to stop and consider what was best for Frights Nights and our community,” said Jordan McMahon, Glenwood & Beyond President.
Gulsvig, Gylsen and Meyer have already started to work to improve the haunted house for the 2017 season.
“We have complete confidence the new owners will take Fright Nights to the next level,” said McMahon. “Their passion is obvious.”
“I want to wish Brent, Todd and Steve the best of luck and thank them for their passion on this project,” said Stephanie Hall, Glenwood & Beyond member, who has worked closely with the haunted house since it started and has helped manage the event in recent years. “This is a great event for our community and I'm excited to see where the new crew takes it!
The success of the haunted house is thanks to many volunteer hours both from Glenwood & Beyond members, as well as the community.
“On behalf of Glenwood and Beyond, I would like to thank the many volunteers who helped make this great event grow into an annual attraction,” said Hall. “And thanks to all the visitors who supported us every year. We couldn’t have done it without you!”
Over the next several months, Fright Nights, LLC, will be working to transform the haunted house into their own. They will be open every weekend in October, plus Halloween.
“We are looking forward to scaring the yell out of you,” said Gulsvig.
